Important Information for RelyOn Policy Holders

Summary of Changes

Up until 1 April 2024 RelyOn Business Insurance policies were underwritten by Hollard Insurance, from this date forward policies will be underwritten by HDi Global Specialty SE.  What does this mean? You will still be able to renew your policy, however you should be aware that there will be some differences in the cover offered.   Below is a summary of the key differences between the two policies.  We recommend that you read the full policy wording (here) to ensure that the new cover meets your needs.

This Cover Notice provides a summary of some of the changed features and benefits of the RelyOn Business Insurance Wording (Policies Issued from 1 April 2024) in comparison to the RelyOn Business Insurance Wording (Policies Issued before 1 April 2024).

GENERAL EXCLUSIONS THAT APPLY TO EVERY SECTION OF THE POLICY
Cyber Exclusion (Amended) Cover for physical damage removed in its entirely from this clause and new provision inserted. Cyber
This policy excludes all loss, damage, liability, cost or expense of any nature to the extent directly or indirectly caused by, contributed to by, resulting from, arising out of or comprising:
a) any cyber loss;
b) any loss of, alteration of, or damage to or a reduction in the functionality, availability or operation of a computer system;
c) any loss of use, reduction in functionality, repair, replacement, restoration or reproduction of any Electronic Data, including the value of, or any amount pertaining to the value of, such Electronic Data.
However, paragraphs b) and c) will not apply in respect of and to the extent of physical loss or physical damage to property insured under this policy (including physical loss or physical damage to a computer system and/or electronic data, as applicable) which is directly caused by an Insured Event not otherwise excluded under this policy subject always to all other provisions, exclusions and conditions of this policy including, but not limited to, that no cover is provided for any legal liability arising from paragraphs b) and c) above howsoever caused. This exclusion will take priority in the event of any conflict with any other term of this policy or any endorsement thereto.
Cyber
This policy excludes all loss, damage, liability, cost or expense of any nature to the extent directly or indirectly caused by, contributed to by, resulting from, arising out of or comprising:
a) any cyber loss;
b) any loss of, alteration of, or damage to or a reduction in the functionality, availability or operation of a computer system;
c) any loss of use, reduction in functionality, repair, replacement, restoration or reproduction of any electronic data, including the value of, or any amount pertaining to the value of, such Electronic Data.
regardless of any other cause or event contributing concurrently or in any other sequence thereto.
This exclusion supersedes and, if in conflict with any other wording in the policy or any endorsement having a bearing on cyber loss or electronic data, replaces that wording.
Disease Exclusion (Added) Infectious diseases exclusion added to the policy. N/A Disease
This policy excludes all loss, damage or liability directly or indirectly caused by or arising from:

  1. highly pathogenic Avian Influenza; or
  2. any other Listed Human Disease (as at the time of loss) under the Biosecurity Act 2015 (Cth) or any subsequent amendment, replacement or successor legislation of the Commonwealth of Australia, including delegated legislation; or
  3. SARS-CoV-2 and any diseases that arise from it including COVID-19; or
  4. any variants or mutation of the diseases described in i) to iii) inclusive; or
  5. Rabies; or
  6. Cholera; or
  7. any disease determined by the World Health Organization (as at the time of loss) to be a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC);
    including any fear or threat thereof (whether actual or perceived) or action taken by a competent public authority in controlling, preventing or suppressing such disease.
 
GENERAL CONDITIONS THAT APPLY TO EVERY SECTION OF THE POLICY
Sanction (Added) New insuring clause added to the policy. N/A Notwithstanding any other terms or conditions under this policy, we will not be deemed to provide coverage and will not make any payments nor provide any service or benefit to you or any other party to the extent that such cover, payment, service, benefit and/or any business or activity you undertake, which would violate any applicable trade or economic sanctions, law or regulation.
BUILDING AND CONTENT
Definition of Building (Amended) Certain building type excluded. building(s) means:

  1. lessors fixtures and fittings including fixed carpets;
  2. all services to the buildings;
  3. all structural improvements;
  4. shipping containers or transportable buildings permanently situated;

at the location including fencing, gates, roadways and paths.
Buildings do not include machinery, land, dams, bridges, canals, tunnels, railway tracks, wharves, docks and piers.

(a) a building used, or intended to be used, principally and primarily as a place of residence; and
(b) out-buildings, fixtures and structural improvements used for domestic purposes, being purposes related to the use of the principal residence;

Any actual or alleged liability whatsoever for any claim or claims in respect of loss or losses directly or indirectly arising out of, resulting from or in consequence of asbestos in whatever form or quantity.

Any actual or alleged liability whatsoever for any claim or claims in respect of loss or losses directly or indirectly arising out of, resulting from, in consequence of, contributed to or aggravated by asbestos and/or silica in whatever form or quantity.
GOODS IN TRANSIT

In addition to the General Exclusions of the policy, we will not cover you for loss of or damage to, or as a result of:

  1. depreciation or deterioration;
  2. money or negotiable documents;
  3. jewellery, watches, furs, antiques, paintings, works of art, precious metals, precious stones or articles composed of any of them;
  4. explosives, petroleum products in bulk or gas in bulk;
  5. livestock;
  6. delay, loss of market or consequential loss of any kind;
  7. collision or contact by the conveying vehicle with the kerb or uneven road surface;
  8. cigarettes, tobacco, wines, spirits or other alcoholic beverages unless shown on your Insurance Certificate;
  9. theft by or in collusion with any of your employees;
  10. electrical or mechanical derangement unless damage is visible to the exterior of the machine;
